Heavy and overweight containers, on tri-axle chassis.
We haul heavy and overweight containers on tri-axle chassis, to and from CN Brampton and CPKC Vaughan. Tell us the cargo weight in each container on the quote, and dispatch confirms the right chassis before booking.

What we haul.
Full containers to and from both ramps, delivered across the GTA and Ontario. Setara Transport moves more than 100 containers a week through the CN Brampton and CPKC Vaughan intermodal ramps.
Heavy import boxes
We pull the container off CN Brampton or CPKC Vaughan, deliver it to your door and bring the empty back.
Heavy export boxes
We bring the empty, you load it at your site, and the loaded box goes back to the ramp before the rail cutoff.
What is inside
Stone, steel, paper rolls, beverages, machinery and other freight that runs heavy. Tell us what it is on the quote.
Why the right chassis matters.
On the road, weight is counted over the axles, not only in the box.
A tri-axle chassis spreads the weight over three axles instead of two, so a heavier container can stay within Ontario's axle weight limits.
The spread matters, not only the total. Road limits count both the total weight and how it sits over each axle group. If you load the box yourself, spread the weight evenly along the floor.
The limits still apply on a chassis. The exact limits depend on the truck, the chassis and the road, so we do not publish a number here.

No weight yet? Tick the box on the quote that says the weight is still to be confirmed, and send it to dispatch before pickup.
Three limits on a heavy container.
A heavy box has to stay inside all three, and none of them is set by us.
Its marked maximum
A container must never be loaded past the maximum gross weight marked on it, on the door or the plate.
Ontario's weight limits
Ontario sets weight limits for each axle group and for the whole truck. That is why the chassis matters.
Their own rules and charges
Railways set their own weight limits for heavy containers and can charge extra for them. Your ocean line may add its own heavy weight charge.
Railway and ocean line charges for heavy boxes are theirs, not ours. Ask your ocean line or your forwarder about them before the box ships.
